FAQ
-
The instructions for this differ depending on the type of smart phone you have.
-
No, the PetFindr Smart Tag does not include GPS tracking. Instead, it uses the FindMy network or FindHub network to update. That means your tags location will update as long as there is a smart phone nearby.
Why isn't this GPS?
GPS trackers need their own cellular connection to send location data - which means a monthly subscription, a larger battery (and tag), and more frequent charging. Our tags instead use the free network of nearby phones (Apple's Find My or Google's Find Hub) to relay location, so there's no ongoing cost and the battery lasts months, not days. The trade-off: they work best in areas with regular foot traffic, rather than very remote locations with few phones nearby. -
If someone scans your tag is opens a browser with your pet profile. If they don't close that browser, and that browser refreshes, that can trigger a notification to be sent.
-
Yes! Simply scan your pets tag, scroll to the bottom, and update your pet's profile at any time.

-
No. Each tag is unique and can be linked to a different pet profile, however you can link separate QR tags to one owner.
-
You will receive a notification. Whilst ideally you want the person to contact you, at least you will know your pet is with a person which will aid your search.
