Our Story

PetFindr was born out of a moment of sheer panic when I left my gate open, and my dog Ziggy decided to go on an unexpected adventure. The truth is, no one plans to lose their pet, but it happens. And in those moments, we’d do anything to bring them home safely. That’s why I created PetFindr—to give every pet and their owner the best possible chance of being reunited, quickly and safely.

Opportunity to Make a Difference

When we first came up with PetFindr, we realised how valuable it could be in reducing the need for pets to be taken to a vet just to scan a microchip — especially when access to a vet isn’t always immediate or available. In those moments, when there’s no nearby clinic or no one knows what to do, many well-meaning finders turn to animal shelters as the next best option.

But that system is already overwhelmed.

By giving people a simple, scannable way to contact a pet’s owner directly, PetFindr helps reduce the number of animals entering shelters — freeing up space and resources for the pets that truly need care, support, and a second chance at finding a forever home.
